Animal Talk

Kitten sees turkey's egg,
And sees a bomb to explode;
Kitten runs in jumbles: leg on leg.

Turkey sees kitten's claws,
And sees dozen butcher blades;
Turkey sets for pecking, bill against claws.

Rabbit imagines some screeching ahead,
And scurries underground to winter-bed.

The tree that stands to mull
Shakes its branched skull
And leaves drop
Like teardrops
Over crops.
